When God revealed himself to Moses, Moses asked, “What is your name?” The response was fascinating. God said, “I Am Who I Am” and that is why God is also known as “The Great I Am.” In the Gospel of John, Jesus states seven times “I Am.” Jesus did this on purpose and for a reason. Would you like to know Jesus better? Come and learn why he said them. This is the first class that Pr. Ben will teach at Bethel Lutheran Church. All are welcome and no experience necessary!
Bruce Reyes-Chow’s small book will serve as a guide in our first effort at talking about race relations in our community. The author, a third-generation Filipino/Chinese-American who serves as a Presbyterian pastor in San Francisco, shares his own life experiences with racial bias, awkward conversations, and failed communications. He discusses ways of bridging the racial/cultural gap for anyone who does not share one’s personal background. The book is available for purchase or download to an e-book reader.
Remember your first paint box? Become reacquainted and comfortable with watercolor color painting techniques. The class is designed to be fun and inspirational and will focus on how to relax and enjoy the process of painting.
The class schedule is on the postcard.
