When God revealed himself to Moses, Moses asked, “What is your name?” The response was fascinating. God said, “I Am Who I Am” and that is why God is also known as “The Great I Am.” In the Gospel of John, Jesus states seven times “I Am.” Jesus did this on purpose and for a reason. The author, a third-generation Filipino/Chinese-American who serves as a Presbyterian pastor in San Francisco, shares his own life experiences with racial bias, awkward conversations, and failed communications.
