October Congregational Meeting

Whenever an ELCA Churchwide Assembly amends parts of the Model Constitution for Congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, all ELCA congregations are required to subsequently incorporate those amendments into their own congregation’s constitution to remain in conformity with the church-at-large and with their sister ELCA congregations. The agenda of our upcoming congregational meeting includes a vote on incorporating those amendments to the Model Constitution for Congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America made at the August 2013 Churchwide Assembly. To be binding, these changes have to be approved by a simple majority vote of voting members present at a legally called meeting of the congregation. The newly approved amendments to the Bethel Constitution shall become effective immediately following a vote of approval.
