Community Life Ministry Annual Report

Having served as Community Life co-chairs since the council restructuring, it is with much enthusiasm that we write our annual report.  The new model, led by Robyn Winegardner, allowed each ministry a regular opportunity to interact with one another for sharing ideas, creating support, and asking for help when needed. The spiritual energy during those meetings became contagious.

Our year began looking for a coffee coordinator for Sunday mornings. Terre Chocholaty eagerly stepped forward to assume the leadership role and immediately oversaw the research, buying and installation of a new brewing system. Pastor Rick sought out our help in organizing a cake reception on Pentecost Sunday that was well received. An 80th birthday celebration was arranged for Dorothy Meyer, one of Bethel’s Associates in Ministry. Angela Sherrill was the guest of honor at a baby shower hosted by the women of Bethel. A warm welcome for baby girl Madison! Laura Leonard volunteered to oversee the organizing of the Supper Club and its continued success. Scott, Connie and Blake Anderson organized an Oktoberfest Picnic that was enjoyed by many. Proceeds were designated for Bethel’s Youth for their trip to Atlanta for the National Convention. Mary Lynne Schoenbeck began offering career counseling for Bethel members and the community.

Continued activities included the Evergreens and Women’s Luncheon under the guidance of Dorothy Meyer, Saturday Morning Walking group led by Janice Martinson, Rosemarie Reichard’s Heart to Heart, the Women’s Spring Retreat organized by Cindy Arnett, Craft Night with Marion Francis and the Men’s Prayer Breakfast under Fred Haber, whose leadership and presence will be greatly missed.

Still in the planning stages is the proposed outside patio area for Sunday morning coffee hour and fellowship. We anticipate this to be an exciting project, and are eager to speak to all who would like to participate.

We have been blessed to have overseen these community-building activities and thank Robyn Winegardner for her creativity and enthusiasm as Ministry Team Chair. It has been a very enriching experience to serve under her leadership.

Working together in His love,
