Out ‘n About Adventures — Upcoming

Out ‘n About is a ministry of Bethel Lutheran Church crafted to provide fellowship activities for Bethel members and friends. The interval of events is monthly and we vary the offerings to be inclusive of different age groups and physical abilities. Most are open to all ages, but occasionally we’ll program adult-only events. On all of our outings, a new attendee gets to ride the bus for free. Please invite lots—this is a great way for folks to check out this community called Bethel.

San Francisco Brewery Walk

Saturday, March 21
walking shoes Shamrock and beer clip art

Lace up your walking shoes and hop on the Bethel bus as we head up to San Francisco for this year’s Saint Patty’s Brewery tour.

glasses of beer

We will meet at the Bethel parking lot and leave at 11am to head to SF for a 2.2 mile brewery-walk along Howard Street and beyond, taking us to 3 breweries.

plates of food

The Bethel Bus will drop us at our first stop which will be Thirsty Bear[Offsite Link], where we will have a group reservation for lunch along with trying their beers. Given we will be a large group, Thirsty Bear policy calls for a $20 average food and drink spend per person on the final bill.

dining room

Leaving Thirsty Bear we will take a 20 minute walk along Howard Street to Cellarmaker Brewing[Offsite Link]. This brewery has been consistently top-rated among SF breweries. Much smaller than our first stop we may be shoulder to shoulder with our fellow walkers, but the brews will be worth it.

dining room

From Cellarmaker we walk another 20 minutes along Howard and then onto 14th to Standard Deviant Brewing[Offsite Link]. This brewery opened in 2016. This is another spot getting good reviews. The brewery is an open space with picnic tables, board games, jenga and shuffleboard for entertainment while you enjoy some of their brews.

mural

As we wrap-up at Standard Deviant, if the weather is good, we will meet the bus over on Valencia Street by taking a 15 minute walk down Mission and then across Clarion Alley[Offsite Link] where we can view the street art murals painted on the walls along the alley.

Meet:Bethel Parking lot at 10:45am—Bus leaves at 11:00
Fuel Cost:$5
Food:Bring money for Food and Beer (reminder $20 average at Thirsty Bear)
Return:Back to Bethel by 5-ish
